The .fedex Dot
Brand
Federal
Express Corporation provides a broad range of transportation, e-commerce
and business services. It processes more than 8.5 million shipments
for express, ground, freight and expedited delivery services every day
in more than 220 countries & territories. Its flagship domain fedex.com
receives around 32 million monthly visitors.

Fedex's
brand TLD will enable it to create new opportunities to conduct business
and further its strategic vision which includes a focus on "safety,
the highest ethical and professional standards and the needs of their
customers and communities".
The .fedex
extension will improve and simplify business operations and streamline
users' navigation to content. Customers have rising technology expectations.
The new brand platform will enable the company " to further innovate
global service delivery, business operations and customer engagement..."
It will
offer a more personalized brand experience for stakeholders and "create
a connected and integrated digital presence". It will also unify
the company's products and services.
It will
help facilitate marketing campaigns and general marketing & advertising.
It will
help to "ensure it can continue to grow its reputation in the transportation,
e-commerce, and business service industries and in the global marketplace."
And it
will facilitate secure communication with customers and "meet future
customer expectations and competitive market demands by continuing to
develop and deploy leading-edge online services".

Through
greater use of online tools by customer/members, Federal Express Corporation
expects to further streamline business processes, reduce turn-around
times, improve speed to market, provide more personalized service
and improve overall customer service delivery and satisfaction.

Fedex believes
communication will be "critical to building trust and confidence
in the legitimacy of the TLD." Media campaigns will be implemented
to ensure customers and the public are aware of the brand domains. In
particular this outreach will communicate the company's commitment to
online safety and data privacy, provide info about the planned uses
of the TLD, and clearly define the expected benefits to all stakeholders.

Prior
to using the proposed .fedex gTLD for product and service marketing/advertising,
marketing campaign activation, interaction and communication with
individuals and entities with whom Federal Express Corporation has
a business relationship, and/or implementing new online navigation
strategies, Federal Express Corporation will take appropriate steps
to communicate the new TLD to the market.

The proposed
.fedex string will increase consumer confidence and trust in online
interactions. The TLD will have an inherent enhanced level of security.
Consumers in the past have had to tread warily on the internet because
many apparently branded websites were not actually authorized sites.
The .fedex TLD, because of its single registrant status, will enable
visitors to immediately distinguish its authority.

The
Internet has been plagued by cybersquatting, typo squatting, phishing,
pharming and identity theft scams. This malicious online conduct has
shaken the trust and confidence of consumers to share information
and transact business online...
